I am 18...

I am 18 months old now. I feel like I am a big girl but sometimes I still need my mama and baba. I have all of my first molars in and now I have one canine coming down.

I suspect there will be a lot of changes in my life in the next 6 months. I think mama and baba have a lot planned for me.

Grammy and Grandpa's House

On Sunday we went over to celebrate Christmas. My favorite part of visiting is seeing the dogs. I love to say "woof woof" to them. This year I also liked the Christmas tree. My favorite ornament was a red glass ball with glitter.

I got a green tractor with trailer from Grammy and a motorcycle book with wheels. Grandpa made me a dragster car out of wood and bought me a Power Wheels 4-wheeler. My very first "vroom, vroom." I was not sure of it at first but then I got the hang of it. I can't wait to spend more time driving it.

Wii would like to play with you....

My cousins got a Wii a few weeks ago. After seeing them play it I decided to try.
I was really good at baseball. I struck out mama and then I struck out Hana. I also tried to play Tennis against Kareem but I need to practice a little more first.





Then yesterday mama ordered me a pair of snow boots. We have a trip to Tahoe planned for the very end of January. They were delivered today so I had to try them on. I am not so sure about them. They are the biggest shoes I have ever owned.

I love the three tenors

I was watching an old performance of the three tenors on TV two nights ago and I loved it. I like to sing along and clap when they are finished. This morning I watched a youtube clip with baba and after enjoying a song brought in my xylophone to play along.

Mama and baba are surprised for some reason.

"Choo, Choo" and "Quack, Quack"

For Thanksgiving I went with baba and mama to Roaring Camp Railroad. I walked through a covered bridge.
Watched some "quack, quack".

Around 1pm I got to go on a "choo, choo". It was a very long "choo, choo" and I had to be patient when they added more cars so more people could ride.



After the "choo,choo" we sat down and had a nice lunch together in the grass.



On Saturday we went and saw uncle Rob and went out to lunch.

"Vroom, Vroom"

On Saturday the 17th I went with mama, baba, and grandpa to the San Mateo motorcycle show. I got to sit on a lot of "vroom, vroom." I had a lot of fun and can't wait until grandpa buys me my own "vroom, vroom".

All Done

For the past few weeks I have been saying "all done" and my newest trick....the somersault. On demand without help I put my head down on the ground and tuck it in, then I push off with my feet. Then I end up rolling of to the side, but what do you want from a 16.5 month old. I have fun doing what I can :)

My BFF's Birthday Party

I just got back from my friend Emmy's birthday party. I went to her house and played with her doggie and she shared her toys with me.



I saw balloons and wore a silly hat. Emmy ate some cake and then her daddy opened presents while we looked at her new toys.







I can't wait to go back and play with Emmy again soon. Now I need a nap!

Teeth

I am getting in all my molars. So far I have the top two and the bottom right one coming in. I have been a regular drool machine.

I am learning a new word every day. Today it is "izza" (want), yesterday I had fun saying "uh oh."

Mama says she is very slowly staring to wean me, and I am not happy about this. I am okay with sharing, I love my milk. Mama says I have to learn to go to sleep without milk, this makes me very upset, but nice music on baba's iphone helps.

1.....2.....3......

I am becoming an excellent counter. I hold up my fingers and count un, too, tree.

I like to wear other peoples "shoos" and walk around looking like a clown.

In swimming I am getting really good at back floating, walking and jumping into the pool off of a floating mat, and I am starting to blow bubbles. Teacher Lynn brings bubbles to the pool and I get so excited when I see the "booobles" and I love to jump in and pop them. I also love to sing the songs in swimming class like all the grown-ups do. I am also getting better at doing big arms and understanding what I need to do when asked to do big arms.

In other news Hana and Ali came over and spent the weekend at my house. Baba cooked up all pancakes. This was my first time having pancakes. Baba is a really good cook.

4 Generations

Today I spent the day with mama, grammy, and great grammy. They came to my swimming lessons then we went out and ate lunch at Waterfront Pizza. After that we stopped and got something for gramps at Home Depo and went to Whole Foods and got some yummy foods.

This was my first time meeting great grammy. I liked how she and grammy clapped for me at swimming lessons. Great grammy also brought me a really cool pop-up bunny book.

I had a great day!

New developments

Friday baba took the day off and we all went to the Exportiorium in San Francisco. I think baba had the most fun. He is like a big kid playing with all the experiments.




I am getting good with my shape sorter puzzle and learning my shapes I know oval and rectangle.

When I was looking at my book yesterday I saw an orange and said "ball." It is not I ball but it is the same shape as a ball.

This morning I am identifying animals in my book. I know 6 animals Arabic.

I also know how to answer a ringing phone, you pick it up and put it to your ear and say "Eello"....or "Eello Meme"

Can I help mama??

Today I broke my first glass item. The lid to mama's soup pot. Mama wasn't really mad and I wasn't sad, this stuff just happens when you are in an apartment and you can't make your own modifications.... (hint to my baba.)

Big Girl Helper

I am a big girl. Today I went potty 2 times and ca-ca in the toilet. I helped mama pick out a few new socks for me, pick up dry cleaning, and took a nice nap as we walked to the post office.
After my nap I helped mama by unloading the plates from the dishwasher. I took them out very carefully and handed them to mama. Then mama put them away. I can't wait to be tall, then I can do it all by myself.

Monkey skills

I do all kinds of things when mama isn't looking. On Tuesday I took off my diaper and crawled up onto the coffee table to quietly enjoy my breakfast. Today I climbed into my stroller while mommy was throwing away a piece of trash. A couple of weeks ago I also learned how to climb up the into my dinner chair.

Now I climbed back out of my stroller and am dictating this to mama.

Last weekend

Last weekend I went with my cousins to a park in Danville.
We played in the water and had a lot of fun.













I also got to play on the swings too.

Playing with my friends in Palo Alto

Today I went to Mitchell Park in Palo Alto. I met with Sara, Aidan, and Owen.

I am all grown up now...

My baba got a new iPhone, and let me tell you I am making sure every component is baby... eh.. I mean toddler proof. Ofcourse, that being said, I also make sure other areas of the apartment are toddler proof as well.



















What really scares me the most though are Aliens, they are coming, but I have a plan to stop them from controlling my mind. The Aluminum foil trick is soo last week, the mesh works better... not to mention that with Aluminum foil, you can't see much.

I have been busy....

Last weekend Grammy came to see me and we all went to the Coyote Point Museum. I saw birds, reptiles, and mammals. "Rrrrrrr!" I even got to pet my first goat.
















This weekend mama and baba took me to prison. I went on my first boat ride to an island (mama said something about a piece of land with water around it). I walked all the way up to the top holding on to mama and baba's hands. The brochure said this was like climbing 13 stories over 1/4 of a mile. I spent the whole day walking everywhere and I only got tired at the very end.

Now if only baba will share his pictures with us mama can add them to my blog.....

Pee Pee in the Potty

Mama got me a special toilet seat today. Mama has been sitting me on it every few hours and I just went pee pee in the potty all by myself. When I finished mama was so happy and she let me flush the toilet too.

Long night...

Last night was hard....I woke up every hour fussing...mama was ready to loose sanity but then I told her the new word I had learned

"Thu-Thu" okay so I can't make the Z sound yet but what do you want from a 13 month old. Mama and baba were so proud that I can now say my own name.

PixieLand

Today I went to Pixieland in Concord and played with all of my friends.

Emmy and I got to ride to the park together with our mommies. Emmy and I had good conversations about important things.

I rode my first carousel, train, and drove a car while at Pixieland.



We dropped Emmy off at her house and I was so sad. I cried when Emmy left me, but mama talked to me and it made me feel better. Mama says Emmy gets to come play at my house tomorrow. I am very excited.

Seattle Adventures

We all spent a week in Seattle. I don't think I like flying anymore....mama and baba say I am starting to become a pain on flights.


Mama and I went to the Children's Museum and played with lots of kids and I learned how to climb stairs by myself using handrails. I drove a big green bus.


On Friday we met with Uncle Matt and saw him Paraglide off Tiger Mountain. (This is not him.)






Then we went to the Pacific Science Museum and saw dinosaurs and butterflies.










They have cool red cars inside the food court at the Seattle Center. Mama let me play and chase after the cars.

I am learning so fast now....

I know how to blow kisses, roll my arms (like a 70's dance move), do hi-5's, turn pages in books at the right time as mama or baba reads them. I am an excellent walker. I can walk all the way to the car....that is about 50 yards.

I am starting to warm up to music classes and I love to dance and clap with music. I am getting really good at repeating words and my vocabulary is growing.

More yogurt and climbing

Mama let me feed myself yogurt from the tube. I decided it would be more fun to fling it all over myself and the carpet.



I also learned how to climb on top of the coffee table by myself. Baba taught me how to climb into my car seat too.



Last night I walked 9 steps really fast by myself and today I swam underwater all by myself. I did two kicks toward mama with out anyone holding me.

My First Birthday Party

This weekend I celebrated my first birthday with my family. We had the party at Uncle Amr's and Aunt Sherifa's. Meme and Deda, my cousins, Ryan and Karen, Grammy and Grandpa, and Uncle Rob were all there.



We had good food. Mama made my cake. Everyone sang happy birthday to me. Mama helped me blow out the candle and then I opened presents.



I got 2 cute outfits and a jean jacket from Ryan and Karen. A doggy with clothes from Hana. Money from Deda. A beautiful brooch with earrings from Meme (it use to belong to someone who lived long before I was born.) A cute strawberry outfit from Aunt Sherifa and family. A baby doll with clothes from Uncle Rob. And a Leap Frog radio from Grammy and Grandpa.



After the party we spent the night at Aunt Sherifa's and mama, Hana and I slept in the tent in the backyard. It was Hana and I's first time sleeping in a tent.

In the morning we got up and took Meme and Deda to the airport. Today Aunt Sherifa and my cousins will be following behind them. I am kind of sad. They are going to be gone all summer. :(
